Memorial Projects

101 Squadron members are committed to recognizing military aircrew who perished on16 The Piper dedicating Regimental Plaque the North Island, Central Coast, and Haida Gwaii since the beginning of WWII. The events that took the lives of military personnel had a variety of causes, poor weather being a common one – every pilot knows how terribly unforgiving aviation is when things go wrong.

Regardless of the cause of their deaths, each of those young men died serving Canada – patrolling our shores prepared to take on the enemy in whatever form it arrived. Their sacrifice might have been lost to time but their commitment to freedom makes them heroes in our eyes. For 101 Squadron it is truly an honour to leave a tribute to their courage for future generations.
